Excellent gumbo. Great for late night food. Colorful wait staff. Good people watching opportunities. Don't know why it's named after something that runs in San Francisco. The Street Car Stop would be a better name.

I visited the Cafe for the 1st time to meet several high school football teammates (from the mid to late '60s) and a college fraternity brother. Although parking spots in the parking lot in front of the Cafe were limited, there is also parking in the rear of the business and on the street that runs alongside. The place was packed with music lovers in town for the New Orleans French Quarter Festival and locals, but the wait to be seated was relatively short. The greeter and the wait staff were friendly and very attentive, even though at times it seemed like a pair of roller skates might have helped them to get around more quickly than they were already moving. The Cafe is located on St Charles Ave and I noticed several groups of diners arriving/departing via the streetcar. I think there is also a bus stop on the same corner as the Cafe. The Cafe has a wheelchair access ramp that leads directly into the dining area, which made for easy going for two of my teammates. The menu was extensive and the prices were very reasonable. I definitely plan to re-visit the Trolley Stop Cafe and have already told friends about it.

Food was amazing. Had to get mine to go because the place was packed. All seating was occupied and there was a super long line waiting to get a table. Wait time was estimated at 1.5 hours....It was a Sunday morning. Tried a few more times to get in and the same thing. This place stays busy as hell, be prepared to wait for a table but the food is worth it.

My most recent visit did not result in the usual "good food" experience. It appeared a different cook was in the kitchen as compared to other times I'd been there and had wonderful food. The wait staff was excellent although, so at least one one part of the experience was good. For reference I ordered breakfast and the grits were running and under cooked.

I was so disappointed. This used to be a great spot. Unfortunately 😑, not anymore. Everything taste as if it came out of a microwave. I only gave it two stars because the staff was pleasant. They should go back to doing great breakfast food. That's really what the people remember about the place.
