After a couple hours of straight walking the Freedom Trail, Union Oyster House is a well deserved lunch. From serving one of the creamiest New England Chowders to the lumpiest crab cakes. When we got there, thankfully there was no line. Service was quick. They have a big area with booths, tables and a bar. The cornbread was pretty good, hot and served with butter. My wife and I shared the mussels, lump crab cakes, and the fish tacos. We ordered too many, but it was worth it. Definitely a must go!

I love this place. It's old and historic. Amazing oysters, they served cornbread (random) that was just as good as grandma's. Not a huge beer selection but they have some local beers. It is kinda small, so I'd imagine it can get packed quick. They do have a market or open raw seafood area of some sort. Not sure if the sell fresh items.

At the oyster bar 2 years ago with the kids while in Boston and had such a great experience, from the scrumptious dishes to my favorite, the Colonial Ale, that I had to stop back in while in town last week. Sat at the regular bar this time and the friendly bartender was excellent and a pleasure to chat with. Now if I could just figure out how to get that Colonial Ale sent down to Texas! HIGHLY recommend this place!

The restaurant as a really long line during busy hours if without a reservation. Usually drop-ins takes about 1 hour to wait during Friday nights. I do not recommend other main courses at least the one that I had were not cost efficient considering the tastes and were not the strongest suit of the restaurant. I really recommend the oysters here--- fresh and tasty with sauces/lemon juice. Service was pretty good. In general, environment is good to hang out/talk.

These were some fresh oysters. If you're sitting at the oyster bar, order and they shuck them right there. Very busy and popular. The dining room food was also fresh and delicious. I think it was the right amount of food. You'll be paying for the experience of the oldest restaurant in Boston and the fresh (and good) seafood.
