I came here this morning for a business meeting as a first-time Donckers customer. What a great experience! This is a hometown favorite with a retro feel. Easy to find on Washington in downtown Marquette either by parking in front or in the rear. The street floor has a charming old-time soda fountain with lots of candies, perfect for the kids. The upper floor is designed as a retro-style diner with a 1950s feel. The food was excellent, as was the service. I met the owner Tom briefly, and he is a true class act. He has a firm handshake and a warm, welcoming smile. They have very neat loyalty program where you have a rock artfully designed with an assigned number, that you can use, at each visit. Overall a great place for friends, family, and food!

I didn’t try the restaurant side, but the front chocolate shop was great! Yummy treats, lots of varieties, fun trinkets and toys to purchase, cute kitsch from Upper Peninsula or other decorations. The staff were great with young kids - patient to allow them to make decisions, but also understood that once a 2yo picks out candy, she doesn’t want to wait to eat it!

This is my favorite restaurant in Marquette. Great food and fast friendly service. Fun gift shop. Candy and ice cream is amazing. I love coming here with my family.

Ate at the ice cream parlor, very cool experience sitting at the bar stools. Super cool on the inside!
