No doubt the Lord Essex was a standard in days gone by. Our meals were cooked to order, excellant fillet & lobster as well as was my wife's salmon. Yet you can't help but feeling its very tired atmosphere, the hotel, the decor, etc. Not complaining just telling it like it was for us. Could this property prosper by a complete remodel, I sure it would. Then at 8:15PM upon leaving the restaurant, it might have been full, not 1 other single dinner on a Friday night. Albeit this is a totally unique community, but hotels & restaurants are not today, they are modern, feel fresh, lively, charming, engaging, etc.

We had a group of 8 and we all agreed it was the worst service we ever had. We saw only 2 employees working. Took a half hour to get drinks. Another half hour to order. Had to go to the bar to get more drinks. Steaks were not cooked to order. All were well done. We were there for over 3 hours. There were probably 10 people in the place so the poor service wasn’t because it was busy.

Worst steak House ever. Over priced and tough as heck for an 80 dollar steak. Outback is much much better

I must admit for the prices this place was terrible. The service was amazingly slow. I Ordered a $47.00 dollar prime rib medium rare, and it came to me well done. They said that it was medium rare. There was no pink or red in the middle at all. Like it was last nights prime rib served tonight. I will never go back as the food was so not worth the money. Save your money and go elsewhere. I have had better steaks at the Outback and for 1/4 of the cost. Dinner for two was $169.00 with tip. I don’t mind paying for good food but this was terrible food. Buyer be ware.

A little spendy. Great for a date night. I would not bring young children. Entire course is always superb.
