It was so much fun to eat at piece of history. Everything around seemed to tell a story. The picture on the wall was a map of Independence from 1860s, definitely A+ for atmosphere. The menu was extensive with more than a handful of unique dishes that have been created and cultivated over the years. The staff was attentive and friendly. The establishment even served the local squares recently resurrected soda line, Polly's pop. Right down to the meal and the drinks, pieces of history.

I have greatly enjoyed my experience at Courthouse Exchange. The waitresses are very prompt, and very good about taking care of you. The menu selection is diverse, and many of the items are top quality, with everything being made from scratch. The portions are very generous, including the sides. Out of every thing I've had so far, my personal recommendation would be their burgers. The price is somewhat high, but considering the quality and amount you receive, you certainly receive your money's worth. Plus, you can keep your cup!

This is home cooking at its best. This is just like going to grandmas place and maybe better. For me the liver and gizzards are some of the best I have had. My wife and kids love the chicken with gravy. But if you stop by you have to try the homemade applesauce. That will set your mood for the day. I have never had applesauce that good in my life. I would say we go to this place twice a month just got the applesauce lol. The staff are awesome they are fast and very attentive to everyone. Last note I will leave you with is bread pudding try it before you leave get it topped with a ice cream and you will need a nap for days.

The fried chicken and gravy was amazing! Pork tenderloins too big for a single meal & they really need to consider serving those incredible biscuits w/gravy as a breakfast thing!! We will be back with friends!!!
