Well I wouldnt say this is best sub shop. I think it on par with subway but a lot more money. I ordered a steak sub which was a lot more dough than meat. My wife ordered a turkey sub, the lettuce in hers was brown, and tasted bland as she put it. The kids ordered a pepperoni pizza which was also pricey and bland. This place is OK but pricey. I have had a lot worse! The service was about as fast for a fresh meal as you can expect. The table are really tight, if you are much bigger than Medium you won't fit in the booths.

Food is consistently good, hot, and ready when they say it will be, which is often 10-15 minutes. Their staff is very friendly and they move fast. Their steak sub is better than I've had anywhere. I've ordered from here many times and have not had a bad meal or service. One of the few places in Olean that has not disappointed.

Unfortunately I've been forced to edit my review. Last night (Jan 3rd, 2018) I was told, for the first time, that On The Side has been charging customers a $2 fee to pay for an order over the phone with any card. They have apparently been charging this fee for 14 months, per 1 employee. I've asked a handful of friends who are all also customers, and none of them had ever been told this before either. Unfortunately there is no way to verify how long On The Side has been passing this fee on to their loyal customers, as they only present you with a transaction receipt that has an order total and nothing else. I made the point that charging customers a $2 fee for this will only deter *legitimate* customers because anyone using a stolen card couldn't care less about 2 more free dollars. They blamed the company they use for processing the transactions. They claimed they tell every person who pays over the phone. I can pull 2 dozen phone purchases out of the last 14 months if not more, and this absolutely was the first time I was advised of this fee. In a world of delivery fees, convenience fees, and other such nonsense, this unusual fee is not my true issue here. I'm rather unhappy that I've apparently been getting charged this fee for over a year and am only now finding out of its existence. I do intend to take this up with ownership, but for the time being I must change my review on principle alone. ********** The steak sub here is amazing! The pizza sub is excellent as well. Staff is always friendly, and for subs of any kind I'll never recommend anywhere over On The Side Subs!
