Jewel of Himalaya is an understatement. It's a temple of gustatory spirituality. The decor and music are soothingly beautiful and the food spectacular. Every dish is dramatically different. The Himalayan Makhini looks like a bowl of meat chunks in red sauce, but when it hits the tongue, an alien world of mystery and delight floods into the senses, as if the tongue were a portal to another world. It's divine beyond description - there are no words - but, there never are with great food. It has only to be experienced to be understood, although it will still leave you speechless. I ordered the Sizzling Shrimp. Freaking awesome. A surprising feature of the place is the sheer subtle insanity of the birthday ritual. We were so delighted and excited that our effort to record a video went wildly awry - but- a hint: it involves gongs, a sparker and a mask, and incredible mango pistachio sorbet. A must.

I’d have never thought the best “Indian” food I’d have would be from a Nepalese place. The stuff here is so rich and full of flavor that it makes my mouth water just thinking of it. The lamb, the chicken, and everything in between, it’s some of the best I’ve ever had. Definitely looking forward to coming back again.
