The atmosphere and the food are always wonderful here. The service is usually very good. I will say that the service at my last lunch and last dinner there (in April 2018) could have been better. The waitress for lunch seemed to have better things to do then serve my table and my waiter for dinner had an attitude problem. But I have been here many times and the service has been very good in the past

The flattop burger at happy hour is a great deal. Local cheese on a burger topped with big caramelized onions add a sweet and savory balance. Add some slightly spicy pickles and cilantro aioli on the top sesame bun bring some yin to this yang. A great burger at a great price. The fries are alright but nothing special about them or their sauce. Just make sure to hit the happy hour times for this burger. Great atmosphere, fast and friendly service

What else can I say otherwise then amazing. My experience here has been one of the best in Portland. You definitely want to sit at the chef's bar and watch him cook on the large wood burning grill. Food was amazing from the oysters, to brisket, to bone marrow, etc. There is something from everybody here. The atmosphere is lively and the service is very friendly. Highly recommend!

My wife and I came to Imperial for Portland dining month. The environment is dim and romantic. We had a golden beet salad that had basil and mint leaves sprinkled atop with a creamy dill sauce. Next we had fire roasted brisket followed by a piece of cake with Carmel, pear and whipped cream. Wait staff was friendly and attentive. The overall experience was satisfying however it was VERY cold in the restaurant. Other than that we had a great time.

Excellent bar service here! Thank you to the bartender Jerry for giving us the history of this young restaurant. Excellent happy hour drink and food selections. Relaxing, fun atmosphere.
