Foods great but the staff could use some improvement. You expect a certain level. The bald waiter came to collect plates multiple times as we were still eating and conversing. When they say to expect 3+ hours for the experience you don't want to be rushed.

Absolutely amazing experience at Roe Portland! Everything from the atmosphere to the team and service to the food was impeccable. Definitely plan on spending 3+ hours when enjoying the Roe Tasting Menu. Fantastic, fresh, surprising and different from start to finish! Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Refined, balanced, consistent. Roe is so exceptional, even friends who don't particularly enjoy seafood were blown away by the quality of the meal. Twice now, we have dined here and found that each time was equally spectacular. The dishes are masterfully created to ride the perfect balances of textures and flavours, while the wine pairings were nothing less than inspired. Truly, our dinners here are easily in our top 5 meals of all time. Roe is now solidly in our back pocket as a place to wow any visitors or locals. ***Edited for 3rd trip, NYE 2017: Now three of the best meals I've had. Roe's new location is now open and the team is providing the same exceptional service and flavours as ever before. Delicate and finessed, the plates continue to be presented with an eye towards art and grace, balanced with texture and flavour. The wine pairings remain inspired and perfect to compliment each dish.

Last week we had the pleasure of attending the soft open of Roe at its new location in Morgan's Alley (downtown Portland). The atmosphere was remarkable. I shouldn't use a simple word as "delicious" to describe the 12-course meal of seafood and wine pairings. That wouldn't do the evening justice. Rather, I would say that a dinner at Roe is an experience of culinary delights unmatched by any other restaurant in Portland. I cannot recommend it enough.

Roe is simply phenomenal. The food is art - both to the eye and the tongue. Every course is special, the meal unfolding like a well-crafted story. The combinations of ingredients chef Trent conceives are inventive, surprising, delightful. This a restaurant that you want to savor, like a well-guarded secret. And the location is a nod to that secret feeling - it's a little hidden, a little hard to find, and that makes it all the more special. Truly the best Portland has to offer!
