As a Penn Stater, the tavern was the place to bring parents when visiting so it has nostalgia value. Sadly it is showing its age, not in a good way. The restaurant needs a sprucing up or perhaps just a good cleaning. The menu also need a boost too. Entries are just OK and the sides are right out of a food service dining hall. Too bad that a place with so much nostalgia appeal can’t seem to up their game. Well meaning student servers seem to be poorly trained or managed..... not their fault. Careless management.

Great atmosphere. Good food. A little pricey for the quality

I am not a Penn state native nor did I attend Penn state so I have to say that this place does not have a sentimental position for me. I found the menu a bit odd. I don't understand the idea of giving unlimited sides that are underwhelming. The actual main courses were not bad and cooked to a reasonably close temperature. I just wish that they focused on quality over quantity.

Very nice place for dinner. Really enjoyed the food. Good service and nice people. I recommend the place if you like good steaks.

Excellent food, unlimited sides. Steaks are cooked to the correct temperature. Go in sit at the bar have a drink.
