I love Mad Mex! The food and drinks have always been on-point. The service can be slow during peak periods, but that's somewhat understandable because of how packed it can get on popular weekends. Mondays are the best because they offer $5 large (big-Azz) Margaritas. You can get an extra "floater"shot of tequila on top, but let's be honest, you shouldn't. My all-time favorite margarita here is the frozen strawberry. The pieces of fruit in the margaritas really sell them for me. Food-wise, I haven't gone wrong with the staples like burritos/enchiladas. Surprisingly one of my favorite meals here is a southwest entree salad topped with steak.

The food and drinks were decent and reasonably priced, but the restaurant was pretty noisy, both indoors and in the outdoor patio area. Waitstaff are generally more attentive if you're dining indoors (good luck getting quick service in the patio area!). Best time to go is during the weekdays, especially during the summer.

Oddly good food for a small chain restaurant. Continuing the odd attributes, this restaurant has the best tofu in State College. And shuffleboard.

Much too noisy. We sat at a small table to celebrate a friend's birthday. However, it was so noisy, I couldn't hear the person sitting across from me and often had to lean in to hear the woman next to me. And my hearing isn't bad! The food was good but the portion was overwhelming.

Really good happy hour specials on Tuesday including craft drafts. The wings were great!
