This restaurant is amazing!!! The food was delicious and the service was wonderful. The wait staff is super sweet, accommodating and prompt. The restaurant is actually in a house and has quite a bit of charm! The food melts in your mouth, from the appetizers, to dinner and dessert. If I'm ever back in the area, I will definitely come back for a visit To Private Property.

I try so hard to like this place. We've been coming here for over 2 years on dates, I've had group dinners here and love its atmosphere an the food is good (when the orders are prepared correctly) but the kitchen service and wait staff has room for improvement. I called ahead today, a beautiful, sunny spring day, to check the wait time. I was told that there was no wait and they were really slow today. We got there and asked for a table outside, there was only one other person eating (Easter weekend). We ordered 2 medium rare burgers and waited 30 minutes to get our plates. As usual, our burgers were overcooked (they say they can cook them rare and medium rare). I've deleted my 5 star review I'd given years ago and have given up on Private Property. No need complaining anymore, we just won't go back. Regretfully, it has such potential.

I love this place! It's in downtown Lexington, in an old house. The staff are very friendly. When we mentioned how beautiful the house was, they encouraged us to visit the courtyard on our way out. We had shrimp po'boys. The bread was fresh and crusty, but not hard. The shrimp were cooked tender. The sauce wasn't overdone. Just textbook perfect. The bread pudding was delicious. I seriously recommend it.

Candy and Carley made me feel like an invited guest or new friend rather than a late-coning patron. Carley's mouth-watering description made my dinner choice an easy one. When I asked what I should have when I return, and I will return, I got such a heartfelt response that I have added this place to my travel notes! Private Property looks like a home and is so inviting I could/should have drawn out my solo dining experience and sampled more! I will be back for the food, the service, and (from the quick peek I got tonight) the patio! I have to end with two words: bread pudding.
