I have eaten here for many years, and the food has always been good. That being said, food is not all that matters when you enter a restaurant. It's the service, friendliness of staff, and relaxing atmosphere. Ichiban in Springfield is really lacking in those areas. Every time I come for a to-go order, I'm met with subtle hostility and snooty attitudes. I don't know why in the world this place offers to-go orders if they're going to treat you like a criminal because you don't have time to sit in their restaurant and tip their young, rude waitresses. My wife and I are seriously considering not coming back, which is sad, considering we have loved eating here for so long. The staff used to be so friendly and welcoming. Now every time I enter this place I feel as though they do not want me here, and I'm starting to not want me here either. Please Ichiban, teach your staff to be more polite. If they have a problem with being polite to customers who are nothing but polite and nice to them, they may want to find a new job, because this one isn't for them.

Best service in Springfield. Always polite and fast servers. Food is consistently good, authentic hibachi. Entrees are sometimes too moist, but better than dry. Business has been in town for a while and is not going anywhere

Amazing hibachi food. Their sushi was out of this world as well. Our waitress, who was very kind and helpful, suggested their yum yum roll. I highly suggest it. Very clean restaurant.
