First of all, a reservation here via Open Table, is not an actual reservation. You may still have to wait. We had to for about 15 minutes. We went for Mother's Day lunch. It was busy and that was expected, however our "reservation" was just a line jump to be "next" behind people who arrived first (with or without reservations.)
Secondly, the attentiveness was below what I would have expected, but being Mother's Day, the servers were extremely busy. However, that doesn't excuse simple oversights such as no straws when delivering drinks.
My order was a Seafood Trio, which was nice. However, it was incorrect. I ordered it with spaghetti instead of vegetables, however it came with vegetables. Not that big of a deal, but before I could say anything, the person who came to deliver our food had sat all the plates down and taken off already. Not even a question as to if it was right, if we needed anything else, or anything other than distributing the food and taking off. So while everyone else was digging in, I had to wait until our server came back around. The issue was promptly corrected, after waiting a few minutes to find our server but that's not all. The seafood trio was all fried. It was a crab stuffed shrimp in a croissant with sauce on top. Not bad. However, both the regular shrimp, and the scallops that made up the remainder of the trio were fried (lightly.) No mention of this was made on the menu or by the server when mentioning the dish. I enjoy scallops, but it was a shame to see them fried. There was no reason for it. The presentation looked great, but in practice, someone should tell the chef/owner that this isn't Long John Silvers.
Also, don't bother to order a salad here. The salad is literally romaine lettuce with caesar dressing and very small croutons. My mom, who had a "house salad," had a mix of lettuce with dressing as well. However it was not a "salad." No carrots, tomato, olives, onions, etc., that one would normally consider to be on a salad. Definitely not worth the up charge if not included with the meal. Which also brings up the issue of price. While I realize it was not going to be an inexpensive affair, I do not feel like the value proposition was worth the expense. I don't need to be waited on hand and foot. However it would have been nice to have a bit more attention, even on a busy Mother's Day. Especially considering the cost. I'm sure this isn't the first time they've been this busy, since they literally have Mother's Day every year. Not sarcasm. With Father's Day coming, maybe consider taking dear old dad elsewhere. I'm not sure if they added extra tables or not, but it also seemed very cramped in there with tables on top of each other. I realize while it maybe a popular place, it does nothing for atmosphere, or noise level, and caused some anxiety for one member of our party. Additionally, for a place that gets as crowded as it was on special occasions, there was a general lack of parking, as well as a lack of standing/seating room. Again, when you don't have "true" reservations and have to wait, it would be nice to not have to wait outdoors, in the hot sun, with your elderly mother on Mother's Day. We managed, but I think we all decided that while the food was good, coupled with the disappointing service, it wasn't good enough to detract from all the shortcomings. Consider somewhere else if you're looking to impress. At least for this location, it was underwhelming and disappointing.
