Pros: Trendy cool spot with a young vibe and cool atmosphere. Food selection is limited yet above average quality. Cons: Awful awful service from hostess/front personnel. It was our first time and was expecting a lot better. Definitely needs to improve and match it with today's expectations. Better places to choose from but if you've had all SLC has to offer, I'd give it a try.

This has been one of our favorite restaurants for a couple of years, but tonight was just okay. For one thing, there are lots of repeated items on the menu that we've seen for 6 months. They were good, but with a very limited menu already, we want to try new things. Tonight, we had Roasted Beets (our favorite dish of the evening,) Roasted Cabbage with a pimento sauce (quite good,) and Grain and Seed Risotto with wild mushrooms. The last was $22 and a large serving but just okay.

Called a friend to ask for best burger in Salt Lake and he suggested HSL and we were not disappointed. The decor and ambiance is great and the chef seems to know what he is doing because this is his second location and it was packed. If you can wait for a table they have a bar and communal table. We both got the burgers and ate them before we could take a photo

I came in with a large group. We ordered several different appetizers and all were delicious. The wine and beer selection was impressive. Everyone was happy with their entrees. We ordered coffee with dessert and I thought it was a nice touch that it came out in French presses. This is a great place to come in and have an experience, not just eat. It also isn't a place to rush through your meal. I don't recommend if you're in a hurry or have kids with you.

Atmosphere was light, fun, open, and friendly. I honestly had great expectations. I had always heard great things, and it had come highly recommended, even by competing restaurants in the area. The wait staff was friendly, but that's where it all started to fall apart. The food came out cold, presentation was lacking, and even for à la carte items the portions were woefully small. My biggest frustration was that we were charged for food we never received, and the wait staff seemed in too much of a hurry to turn the table for us to have the ability to dress our concerns. Overall, I was sorely disappointed. On the plus side, I will probably go back and give them a second chance because of how highly recommended they were. Here's to hoping for a better second round.
