Seating: This Cafe Rio location is cramped and offers limited seating. The seating itself is a large collection of small, round tables with individual chairs that are ok to seat three people, maybe four. If your group has four or more people, than it's likely you won't be at the same table. Many other Cafe Rio locations offer much larger lobbies with booths, large, rectangle tables, window bars, etc.., but this location seems determined to sardine as many people as possible into their store rather than being determined to offer a comfortable, inviting dining experience. Cleanliness: During our entire visit, there were bags full of trash sitting on the floor that nobody was using or filling; just full trash bags laying on the ground (see pictures). There was also a pile of trash accumulating behind the stand that holds the silverware, lids, and straws. The restaurant wasn't busy and there's no reason that the store should have been in such disarray. Besides the unusual examples mentioned here, there was a general atmosphere of uncleanliness in the store (that could have something to do with the poor lighting though). Customer service: Others here have mentioned that the staff is rude. I wouldn't say that they are rude, but they don't try to be polite or courteous either. Food: The food was as good as any other Cafe Rio location in the Salt Lake area; we didn't have any issues such as the food being undercooked or old. That's not really what's this review is about though; if you've been to Cafe Rio, you already know what the food's like.

UPDATE 4/11/18 - Whatever the ringing sound was, I haven't heard it in a few months. Seems to have been addressed. I'm happy to come to this location. Employees/food are great with little exception. ORIGINAL: Is that a phone ringing? It is so absurdly loud, bordering on painful. Its ringing every time I go. I've heard other patrons complain about it every time. How is something like this over looked... Polite staff for the most part. Good food of course. Go to a different location if you can.

Eh- Don't see what all the fuss is about.. well maybe a bit- they were going to overcharge me but I caught it! Chain Mexican joint- but Cafe Rio uses good ingredients. You pay for it being better than taco bell
