Cat & Owl Steak & Seafood is a bit hard to find, but worth the effort. The atmosphere and service are somewhat casual and the menu prices are fairly high, but the food is excellent. I enjoyed the salmon, and the others had steaks. Both of my tablemates said that their steaks we're tender and flavorful. Everything was cooked perfectly, and the sides were delicious. Dessert was outstanding, too. The bourbon pecan pie with butter pecan ice cream was the highlight of the evening for me. The others had the apple pie and vanilla ice cream, which also got rave reviews. Good food, casual service and comfortable atmosphere. Cat & Owl is a good restaurant for a special occasion, but a bit spendy for a typical evening out.

In town on business and wanted to treat myself to a nice steak meal. Top to bottom, meal was poison. Started with salad bar. Greens were wilted and many of the vegetables were clearly post prime. Something I could normally live with if steak is good. Ordered the large filet with broiled shrimp. Steak was cooked to correct temperature, but tasted like it had turned. Had a "gamey" flavor and strong odor. Couldn't finish it. Shrimp were laughably small, but abundant in number. Also ordered a glass of the house merlot, which tasted like it was old and needed to be thrown away. Ultimately very expensive for a truly foul meal.
