This was my second time here. I came back to try the sushi. Hibachi the first time was an amazing experience, 5 stars. Although I wasn't too impressed with the sushi, it was actually edible and didn't make us sick like some other places. That was a positive. The massive fish eggs were a let down. We did like the appetizer shrimp tempura. I probably won't be coming back because the friend I was with tonight made a scene in front of a big crowd of people and she's a regular here so... Sorry. All of the staff are very nice and attentive though and the hibachi chefs are funny. Thank you.

The atmosphere was great. Food was amazing. The wife and I had the hibachi grill, we loved it! I just wish they had better seating. We sat for quite some time and wished the chairs were more comfortable. We'll definitely be back!

Me and my husband love going to hayashi. We used to go to Nara of Japan until they closed down. The service is really good and MOST of the time the cooks are pretty good. A few times we've gone and they really didn't do the show they do with the utensils and food.

My go to for good hibachi in the Newport News area. The chefs are hilarious and the food is always cooked right. The atmosphere is comforting and the prices are the ones you would typically pay at any other hibachi grill.

My experience was pretty bad here. The servers are rude and so is the manager. The people at our table were waiting over an hour for their food. So they expressed their concerns with the manager and he basically started how hibachi "worked" meanwhile they knew that but an over an hour is a little extreme. Then the server said "Oh you haven't been waiting that long". I think that set everyone off. The manager came back with the server and he was arguing with the young ladies. Why would a manager argue with the customer? And the ladies told the manager how rude the server was and how she was not getting a tip and the server said "well we take 18% of your check and spilt it with the cook so I get a tip either way" who let's their server talk to the customer like that and the manager did not say a word. They really need to take some customer service classes because they lack it. Everyone at the table left after that smart remark...i wish I could give this place zero stars just based off of the service and how they treat their customers....
