Very good special occasion dinner location. Reservations strongly encouraged. Attentive staff, interesting bistro-American food presented and cooked beautifully. Very nice wine selection from lower priced to the highest of budgets. Probably not a good choice for children under 12 or with picky palates.

Oh my goodness; this place is amazing. I don't live here, but the reviews of this place is what made me come out for dinner. All of the food brought out was outstanding. I had the braised short ribs were to die for and the Heritage Pork Chop with blue cheese souffle was superb. I will definitely visit this place again when I am in town.

Thoroughly enjoyed dinner at Fat Canary this evening. Sat at the bar - great atmosphere. Had the special, which was rockfish on a bed of green chile, mashed potatoes with wild mushrooms, English peas and shrimp - all with a pesto butter. The bartenders we're awesome and so was my old fashioned. Meals begin at ~$29.

My fiance and I visited the Fat Canary for a birthday dinner. We had a reservation (which I recommend) and they had our seats ready upon arrival. Since it was a birthday dinner the menu had been turned into a birthday card signed by the staff. I thought this was very unique and greatly appreciated. Our waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu and helped us pick our food. Everything from the appetizers to the main course was delicious. I could tell the menu was well thought out. I definitely recommend visiting here. It is slightly expensive but nothing truly outrageous. Well done Fat Canary.

Five stars all the way in our wonderful historic college town! Possibly the best in all of Williamsburg for fine dining.
