Bit of a wait, but they let us stand where we could see the kitchen crew working, so the time went quickly. Dimly lit, so a good place for a first date... we all look good in low light! ;) Tasty food and friendly staff.

A great place for dinner. My wife and I decided to go out for a special dinner and I started looking for a new place that we go. Lapellah showed up in my searches a few times so I looked further. My wife thought it looked good so she set our reservation at 7:15. We ended up being ready for dinner far earlier than we though and called them at 5:30 to see if we could set and earlier reservation. The female on the phone was so curt and rude my wife wanted to cancel the reservation and go somewhere else. We decided to keep our reservation and we are glad that we did. Everyone was very delightful in person, the lamb and NY strip were fantastic. The drinks were made very well also. We were very pleased with our meal. The only negatives are the parking and the price. Hard to find a place to park but we ended up getting pretty lucky. You will most likely have to walk a ways. Drinks were a little on the high side. 15 for a drink seems high to me. All said and done were about $150 for 3 drinks, appetizer and two dishes. It was good but I don't know if it was $150 for two good.

My husband and I had the rare opportunity to leave our daughter at home and go out on a date. Lapellah was highly recommended by friends, so we thought we would give it a try. The line at the front was staggering, and when we attempted to get our name on the list, the hostess said she would check the restaurant for tables and left. After 10 minutes of waiting for her, we got asked if our names were on the list. No, because she didn't ask. So we left. Very disappointing, and we won't be back. Even the best food isn't worth being mistreated.

I stopped by last night for a drink and some apps. As usual the environment was pleasant and welcoming. The open kitchen and wood fueled brick oven combination creates a warm array of sounds, smells, and warmth as you come through the door. I ordered a "Dank Tank" and found it to be surprisingly smooth, yet still with enough of the gin flavor I was looking for. I had the steamed mussel app, which came with two thick slices of toasted baguette, perfect for soaking up all the delicious juice and sauce. Next I had the lamb skewers, which were perfect med rare, and wonderfully flavored. Lastly, I had a German Chocolate Bombe, a creative twist on the German Chocolate Cake, with all the expected flavors, boldly represented in a classy and appealing style. I am already looking forward to my next visit.
