We came on a Thursday night for a big anniversary celebration for my parents. Table for 12, with two waitstaff. The wait for drinks and food was long, and we had to go find our servers for drink refills. The appetizer and bread plates sat on the table empty for the duration of the meal. Less than half of the tables had guests, too. The food was OK, but heavy on salt. This was true for the three meat chili, calamari, the steaks, and even the lobster(!). Not our first experience here with bad service, but it will probably be our last. Too bad, as the view is nice.

The food is always good but the staff is what makes the place! The service from the time you walk in the door is amazing until the time you leave. Excellent place to eat in Oshkosh.

The food has always been pretty good at Beckets however, the service here was recently so abhorrent. We came on a Thursday night during happy hour which we anticipated to have a wait. We were hardly acknowledged by the hostess and waited 45 minutes for a table to finally open up. Since there was no one to check in with we walked to the table and seated ourselves. We were then reprimanded by the hostess for not waiting to be seated. We waited for 45 minutes and no one had ever acknowledge us or asked us if we were waiting for a table. There were two tables that had been sat themselves before us that came in after us so we made the assumption that it was seat yourself. A little communication goes a long way. The only saving grace was our waiter whom unfortunately I do not know the name of. He was a very nice African-American gentleman that treated us with kindness and respect despite how horribly we were treated by the hostess.
