We've been in the neighbourhood for months and FINALLY got over to Peartree. We weren't disappointed. The food was quick and delicious, the service friendly, and the atmosphere was lively for Sunday morning. The prices were great as well and they provided warm blueberry bread to start - we highly recommend the Chicken Eggs Benedict.

The interior environment is quite cozy. It's a nice place to unwind and have a conversation with a friend or family member or colleague. The food I ordered (I believe it was a vegetable quiche) was quite salty. If you're monitoring your salt intake, then you probably should be wary of eating out in general. Many restaurants (this one included) seem to use heavy concentrations of salt in their dishes.

Would call the food mediocre, but have to say it was even worse than that - fries came in soggy and were grey on the inside, had to send them back. My calamari rings were meh, but once I got through them, discovered that the salad they were served on was rotten - several leaves were literally rotted, and should not have made their appearance anywhere on a plate destined for a customer. Took forever for the food to arrive, I suppose that's understandable as it was Saturday early lunch time, but the overall appearance was that this place is overpriced and I would definitely recommend *not* going here. If a place serves a very bland food, it least they could try serving it fresh, but no, was not the case as two! dishes proved.

Food is Ok. Location good. But it could all be better. Looks like a classy place that stopped half way. A shortened well done menu and upgraded paint/washrooms will go a long way improving revenue.

A must visit! Deliciously made meals. Clean environment. Wonderful owners. Good service. Private back patio with low music and birds quietly singing in the beautiful surround trees. It's definitely an oasis in the heart of the city.
