This is an adventure for people who haven't had Ethiopian food before, but essentially, you eat the food by hand, picking up the flavorful stews with a thin sourdough pancake (Injera). The platter is a family style situation which holds several entrees and is shared. Ask for recommendations because they have great meat and vegetarian/vegan options. The food is amazing and is great for 2 people up to a small crowd. Fun for a group of friends. Bring one person who has had the food before as a guide if possible. There are several Ethiopian lagers available in foreign style bottles and a honey wine (mead) that is homemade and excellent. Coffee is meant for after dinner and is in a shared ceremonial pot meant to be shared, strong and very different from the coffee you may be used to. Highly Recommended!

Outstanding Ethiopian food. This place could make a vegetarian out of me, though the meats are fantastic as well. The entire staff is so joyful and eager to please. Love this place.

First time here and never had Ethiopian food before. Great find and wonderful first experience! Had chicken and lamb dishes. Incredible flavors and big portions! Staff was very welcoming and nice. Good crowd for a Monday night!

This is my favorite Ethiopian restaurant in Chicago or probably in the whole of USA. The first time I visited this place was in 1998-1999. The food is great, and as authentic as it gets. Almaz, the owner checks to make sure that guests are enjoying their meals. There will never be another restaurant for my family to eat Ethiopian food in the Chicago metropolitan area. I highly recommend this restaurant for a friendly service and wonderful food. It's just a great experience.

Get ready to eat some of the best food in Edgewater. This place is amazing. I suggest the large platter to share with a few people since its a ton of food. It is BYOB with amazing service and quality.
