Being a local of New Orleans I consider myself a connoisseur of New Orleans cuisine... I went into this well placed "tourist trap" with an open palette for a glimpse of what is being advertised as authentic Louisiana cuisine. I ordered the most difficult to match...the gumbo... Eh 😕... Although really good it couldn't hold a candle to Mom's... clean, good prices, friendly helpful staff... Next time I'll try the red beans 😉

Food was excellent. Service was good. It seemed the wait staff had more area than they could keep up with, but they were super friendly and helpful. Tables are too close together and it's like a maze to get around. Atmosphere is a little on the loud side, but not too loud to carry on a conversation with your table mates.

Prices were high but the food was good and the servers were polite and showed some of that famous Cajun hospitality. The crab was some of the best I've had and I loved trying gator for the first time. Gator is good both grilled and fried. The fries were also delicious.

From the time we walked in until the time we were leaving the service was a plus 10 and then some. It was a group of us visiting from SC and the waiter was amazing. My friend guy ordered wings and they accidentally took too long because they burned them, but the chef made sure to let the waiter know to offer his/her apologies and offered a free desert. His wings still took forever they gave them to him for free with a free desert. They did not have to do that but it was so generous. I definitely recommend this place and will be visiting again. Now 2 things I recommend ... 1. melted butter and 2. More food on the seafood platter for the cost. If you order it the calamari is the BEST !!! Also, make sure you get it grilled instead of fried. If you have a strong palate tell them not to season your catfish. I highly recommend this place.

We met the owner while we had some blackened gator at the bar one afternoon. Hell of a great guy. Since he never met anyone from North Dakota, he gave us an autographed recipe book that he and his daughter produced. Super friendly experience! Great gator!
