Engineered Hardwood Flooring

In 2018 we went to WM Dyck flooring spoke to a sales rep and discussed all our concerns, together we picked out Abode Engineered Hardwood. According to the sales rep it was durable, water resistant, easy to clean, 4 kid friendly, not easily scratched or damaging and if it got scratched it would blend in with the character of the flooring, it also came with residential warranty great nothing to be concerned about right!…. In November 2019 I made my first complaint to the sales rep and since then it has been poor communication since also the sales rep of Abode flooring was a complete douchebag when he came. (New position guess we should have anticipated this). I do not recommend unless you enjoy throwing money away. All we want is what we were guaranteed over the months of looking and discussions, we want replacement or our money back so we can replace with something that will meet our family concerns.

Wm Dycks Is my main material supplier. From the guys at the contractor sales desk to the guys in the yard, it's a great business to do work with. They are very helpful when I have questions. I would recommend them to contractors, homeowners. As a contractor having what you need in one convenient place is fantastic. Remi Laurin, CreteWorks Concrete

We bought a kitchen from William Dyck. At first, service seemed to be good, we changed the plans quite a few times before placing the order to make sure we got the layout we wanted. Then the problems started, they came out to measure the kitchen & by they, I mean the sales woman, not the installer (which would be the correct person to do it since they have the kitchen experience) & she informed us that she wanted to shrink a cabinet in case it didn't fit during installation. There would be no reason why it shouldn't fit if the kitchen was measured properly plus we had a few inches to play with but we went with what she wanted because she advised if we didn't & there were any problems that we would be paying to fix them. Next the kitchen came after 6 weeks & a pantry cabinet was sent damaged from the factory so it needed to be reordered. The installers put a huge gouge in another cabinet during installation & didn't even bother to inform us. They also had no clue how to install the crown moulding in the cabinets. Just said it wouldn't fit, sorry. Even though there was plenty of room for it. The handles were put on crooked as well. W.M Dyck reordered the damaged cabinet from the factory & said it would take 3 weeks. On the day the new cabinet was supposed to come, they called says by that it was done incorrectly again & needed to be remade a 3rd time. So we waited another full 4 weeks (7 weeks after original install & we finally got the cabinet). Cabinet still had a bit of damage but we accepted it because we didn't want to wait any longer. Another issue was the countertop/farmhouse sink. We were originally told that the installers would put it in place so when they didn't, I asked about it again & was informed that the countertop people would do it. Countertop people came to template & said, no it should have been in already by the cabinet installers. Countertops were templates anyway without it & W.M Dyck didn't inform us until a week later that we were going to need another countertop template. In the meantime we installed the sink ourselves since W.M Dyck couldn't figure out whose responsibility it was. Template was fine again & we were told counters would still be installed at the 2 week mark (which we already had an appt booked for). The day of the countertop appt, no one showed up so I called & they informed me that they had changed the appt to the following week but W.MDyck didn't bother to inform of of this. Counters came & they are crooked. At this point, seems like countertop place is saying it's the cabinet installers fault & W.MDyck is saying it's out of our control. As far as we're concerned, cabinet makers, installers & countertop makers & installers are all the responsibility of W.MDyck since they sub contracted them & we are paying W.M Dyck for everything. They need to make it right. There are also esthetic issues with the kitchen, huge space above the fridge, huge space above the wall ovens, empty space on sides of sink. These things make the kitchen look cheap & it shouldn't considering what we paid for it. Overall, Urban Effects cabinetry is not a great product & W.M Dyck kitchen department needs much better installers as well customer service. The only thing we've been offered is $100 gift card from them which is nothing considering what we've paid for the kitchen & all the issues we've had. We understand the issues come up, we've done reno before but it's the way these issues are dealt with that make all the difference & W.MDyck is not dealing with these issues.

Terrible experience. We had them install laminate floors in our condo (bedroom and living room). They did not level the floor properly, there were creaking noises near the door frame, the edging was cut very poorly, and a 2-3 day job took them 2 weeks and they still have not finished. Terrible company, do NOT get them to install laminate floors. UPDATE: Our floors were just completed on July 18th, a full 6 weeks after they started. The majority of the installation was completed 3 weeks in and the last 3 weeks was spent waiting for them to order replacement edging. The customer service was good and eventually our floor was installed properly. Our biggest problem with the installation was that the sub-floor was not leveled or even checked before they began. The manufacturers instructions for installing the floor clearly states to check the sub-floor and flatten it to within 3/16" over 10'. Each section of floor they installed had flatness problems beyond 3/16" and if we didn't point them out it would have voided the floors warranty. Even after pointing them out each new section of floor they put in was again not leveled properly and they continued to make the same error again and again. It really makes me nervous that they skipped other parts of the manufacturers instructions that aren't as easy to spot.

They have the necessities. Good selection of tools and there are some knowledgeable people. For a small town hardware store it is pretty well stocked. Prices are more than Home Depot or Rona but nothing outrageous. Still cheaper than driving to the city. Also they do have sales. Just got to watch for them.
