Absolutely amazing!!! Honest work and very pleasant staff!! The first time I had work done on my car here I was a little nervous because I have had some AWFUL experiences with other shops. After my car was finished I was super surprised at how thorough Rob was with me about the items that were fixed. He took me back into the garage to show me what all was done and explained it in a way I could understand. I've been here 3 times thus far to get work done on my car and after the experiences I have had here, you can bet I'm never going anywhere else. Awesome place!!! Great customer service!!

TL,DR version: AJ and his A&E Automotive shop are friendly, knowledgeable, and honest. If you're looking for a great shop that can do the job quickly and honestly, look no further. My story: I was driving up I-75 past Dayton and my oil temp began to spike and the coolant was boiling over. I pulled over at a gas station, tried the usual fixes, but nothing would get me running for any more than a few minutes. I was stuck about 4 hours from home. I found A&E via a map search for the nearest mechanic. I hit the jackpot with A&E. He helped me troubleshoot over the phone, and I decided to make the quick drive to the shop. He took a look at things, and kept me from having him order expensive parts (A+ honest mechanic right there). He gave me some options and told me what he'd do if he were in my shoes. I had him order parts, and he told me they'd be there in an hour and he'd try to get me back on the road right away, when I fully expected my car would be in the shop for a few days. I arrived at 3:30pm, and his shop closes at 5. The parts came in in about 30 minutes, and he dug in. He found that a part they'd ordered wasn't needed, so instead of putting it in anyway and charging me, he returned it and ordered another, smaller part that didn't include what wasn't broken. At about 5:15 (past closing time) the parts were in, and he performed an ops check of the systems, while performing a drain and flush because I'd put some improper fluid into the system in my haste to get it running at the gas station earlier. He tested it for about 15 minutes to make sure it was good to go. At 5:30pm, he had my car back up and running! When it came time for the bill, with the expedited and after-hours work, I was sure it was going to sting the wallet. But the bill came in well under expectations with a humble, sincere appreciation for the business and a smile. When I drove away, I had an indicator that my coolant level was low, which was caused by the coolant making its way through the system at higher RPMs, but I didn't know this, so I returned (at about 5:45pm at this point) to see if the problem was returning. AJ topped off the coolant and gave me an extra bottle of it, in case it needed more on my trek home. He wouldn't take any payment at all for the coolant. He is a stand up guy, and runs a fantastic shop. He even sent a text a couple hours later to make sure the car was operating well on my way home. I give A&E my highest recommendation. I only wish they were closer to my home (southern Michigan) so I could bring my car in whenever I have an issue. I wish I had this kind of competence and honesty in a shop up here. AJ, if you're reading this, thanks again for saving my bacon. I sure appreciate it. I made it home no problem thanks to your spot-on diagnostics and quick, hard work.
