Never been here before and based upon experiences in the past with any automotive shop I am very skeptical even with high reviews such as this shop. Glad I took the risk and gave them a shot. I found a new "go-to" for automotive needs.
Here's a detailed description of my experience from initial contact to walking out the door after service (NOTE: If you're someone who just wants the "bottom line" please scroll down, I have a section JUST for you!)
For starters, they are a busy shop and that's nothing to be shocked about seeing their positive review ratio. I had called on a Friday for an oil change and alignment, not expecting to get in that day or anything just wanted to price and see when they could do it.
Before I go any further, it would be beneficial for the reader to know that they do not do alignments at their location; HOWEVER, they have a partnership, I guess you could call it, with another shop not too far down the road where they will contact that shop for you and get you set up for an alignment. Since it is a different shop, sometimes you can't get it done that day but, nonetheless, they treat you with priority (both shops do).
I spoke with the owner Kelly on that Friday and he had me penciled in for Wednesday in the morning (there was no need for me to get in any earlier, I was fine with waiting until Wednesday). I got there an hour after they opened and they took me in right away. The waiting area is really cozy and they do offer some basic amenities for you to feel comfortable such as: complimentary coffee, reading material and a restroom and a really cool Music Choice playlist on a TV that will play some old classic rock, if you're an older generation (I am not, but I still like that music anyway), you will appreciate the music of your time.
The staff is very friendly and several times, their mechanics would come out and talk to Kelly giving him updates on customers vehicles and what not so there is constant communication going on between mechanics and the owner. This is a good thing, I believe because there are so many shops where communication gets "mixed" or "lost in translation" so to speak. At least at D&W they know what is going on at all times.
It was extremely evident that the mechanics took great consideration of other customers vehicles, that is, they focused heavily on solving the issue and not just getting someone "out the door". Obviously, time is important to both the shop and customer, rest assured, you can expect nothing less than outstanding quality.
For extra convenience, there is a NAPA right next to their shop so I would assume that the lead time for parts and supplies pick up is very minimal. This is also important to the customer because I think we've all heard the whole speech "we're waiting for the part to come in..." not saying this couldn't happen but unlikely.
As for my car, it was a 2015 Jetta, so I was informed (as I already knew) by Kelly that a special blend oil is required in my car, so their adherence to manufacturer specifications were spot-on. Some shops don't typically follow manufacturer specs and I have had a shop in the past destroy a transmission because they didn't follow what Honda recommended for the required fluid. The point behind this story is that they do their due diligence when it comes to quality assurance.
Here's the BOTTOM LINE:
1. If you're looking for a friendly atmosphere and a trust worthy shop to get work done, D&W should be your first choice.
2. If you're someone who likes to wait for your car to get finished, D&W will do their best to accommodate that need but depending on the scope of work this cannot always be guaranteed. It is not that they wouldn't take you as a priority it's just that sometimes mechanical equipment cannot be fixed in a day.
3. D&W stands behind their motto: "come as a guest, leave as friends" or something to that effect. This is a true statement, in my honest opinion.
4. I will DEFINITELY RETURN to them for future needs.
5. I will DEFINITELY RECOMMEND them to others for mechanical needs as well.
THANKS AGAIN!
