Andersen windows were put in when we built (1981) Absolutely loved them; looked great, loved the color, efficient and sturdy. Last fall we decided to replace some with weak seal. We started with our largest; a bay with a large triple pane and two side double-hung as a unit and a separate crank-out.. IT HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE... supply company ordered through couldn't get the measurements, the series style is no longer was available... they got a rep. from Andersen to come and measure (6 times measurements were taken). This was late Sept.- Oct. The weather was mild then so we were encouraged the project would still be done before snow... cost was very high as it would be a custom window... Local builder installed for us. He did the prep work when we had confirmation the window was coming in. When the window arrived it was 10" too small!!!! could not fit... another was ordered. Due to winter... stored in our garage until Spring... Finally, the windows were put in and "made to fit" (still not an exact fit, but made to work, looking ok). The summer has given us lots of humidity, rain, heat. The middle window fogs up!!!!! That NEVER happened with our original window. The side double hungs are not as sturdy or efficient. There was never any compensation considered, though we asked, for our wait, wrong window, ...frustration. I have a few more double hung windows that have broken cords, don't stay up, etc. WE WILL NOT BE USING ANDERSEN TO REPLACE THESE. I am disgusted with the whole ordeal. L..

I purchased a special order window 100 series window from Home Depot. There was a picture window in the middle and 2 sliders on the side. The window/frame were sized incorrectly and the frame was about 1/4 inch smaller then the middle on each side. This caused challenges for the trim work and it looks bad. Home Depot told me to speak directly to Andersen windows. This has been going on since October. Multiple times I have called and they say they will review and call back. They never do. They eventually had someone come out. He said it is off and you can see that...but it is up to Anderson Windows. Then when I called Andersen Windows(spoke to David at Corporate) they said the contracted inspector stated it was within manufacturing guidelines. I stated that was unacceptable and he said they would have someone call me after January 1. I called again and they said they can only send me a new sash but nothing else. I said no because there isn't anything wrong with the sash.
