Not helpful

Gary Gerber was extremely damaging to my spouse’s and my relationship. He uses outdated methodologies like dream analysis and gender role stereotypes. In a private session with my spouse, he told my spouse to “run” (as in leave our relationship). He did not provide any guidance as to how to fix our marriage. We left his care and went to a marriage workshop called “Marriage Helper.” This workshop showed us in three days what was wrong and how to fix it. Three years later, our marriage is better than it ever was. Do not go to Gary Gerber if you actually want to save your relationship.

I can't say enough about how helpful Gary was to me on so many levels. His ability to really truly listen and read between the lines is a gift. He helped me personally understand why I reacted the way I did in my relationship. He helped me heal my childhood traumas which in turn helped me understand myself better. Gary also saved my relationship...which was not what I wanted to happen when I went to see him. I wanted to run from it like I always have. He is the most committed therapist that you will find. He will not always tell you what you want to hear but he will always tell you what you need to hear when you are ready. I highly recommend Gary. I have actually sent at least 6 other people to him over the years and all of them have been happy with him.

My family had some sessions with Gary when we were in the midst of a divorce. We found him to be calm and grounded, and a very encouraging and supportive listener. He was able to draw out thoughts and feelings from all of us, and then reflected back what he had heard. This process showed us how we all had very different ways of attempting to cope with the situation; and this realization helped us move forward. From our experience, I would wholeheartedly recommend Gary.

Gary is an amazing therapist, he is a very compassionate, trustworthy, down to earth, professional, who works at your pace. He is helping me work through past traumas. Also helping me work through family issues. As well as teaching me how to cope with mental health issues. I would recommend Gary to anyone.

Gary helped me through some very trying times in the last several months. He helped me understand the trauma I experienced has young child which I suppressed. I'm a victim of child abuse and which I didn't understand how this affected my life. This dark past never allowed me to fully trust the people who I loved. With Gary's help he guided me through each step towards my healing. The first step was too trust Gary with my past. I was in a very dark place and played the victim for a long time. I learned how to control my anxieties from certain situations that I handled poorly in the past. I have a better attitude of myself and reflect on my decisions towards others. I'm glad that I found help with Gary because I knew I needed to end this negative cycle. I still have to work on some things but I'm not afraid to face them. I appreciate my family and friends even more because of this journey. Don't be afraid to find help. Thank you, Gary
