Drove all the way out from Chilliwack on November 22nd, 2018 to the lcoation on Peardonville pick up a parcel after my delivery to my home had been horribly bungled and I received a notice threatening to send my parcel back. Upon pickup I gave my credit card information to the agent working that evening to process the payment of $24.71 for taxes and duties.
Yesterday, April 25th 2019, I received a notice from North American Receivable Management Services notifying me that UPS had contracted them to "collect the debt in the amount of $24.71". Thinking it was some kind of mail scam looking for my credit card information, I contacted UPS directly. The agent on the phone ADMITS that it shows on record that my card was taken, but does not show a payment being made - so I checked my card online and discovered that the payment was never processed.
I am livid. UPS never ONCE tried to contact me to notify me that I owed any outstanding balance. I heard not a single wind of this until I received the letter from the debt collection agency. This is a blunder and an oversight that I cannot forgive, and I will never trust or use this company again. I now have a blemish on my credit file because of this complete f*** up and this is now my responsibility to deal with.
DO NOT use UPS. If you absolutely have to, CHECK YOUR CARD STATEMENTS.
