Our daughter just moved from Chicago back to Vancouver, Canada. She used U-Pack, which meant she had a large cube/crate that was shipped from Chicago to ABF, which is in Surrey, but just at the border. Justine had to go there when her freight arrived to clear it through customs, and then to have it delivered to our house.
Nicole from ABF had very politely phoned when her freight arrived, and Justine went at week's end to sign off on it. They told her they'd phone me one hour before delivery, which would be 12noon-4pm. Today, the friendly driver phoned, said he was ahead of schedule, and arrived before 11:30am, I believe, and asked if that'd work out for me.
Mike was smiley, so friendly, polite and helpful. He tried to set the cube so it opened onto the grass, but unfortunately, the grass and soil was too high so we couldn't open the doors of the cube. He good-naturedly re-oriented the cube. He made the process so enjoyable and fun. Thanks, Mike.
He also suggested that if we were going to unload everything tonight, that I immediately phone the office to arrange pick-up of the cube tomorrow. I did that, as one of my neighbours, who I get on famously with, noted that the cube impaired driver vision and took up a fair amount of the street. Anyhow, I phoned the office and they agreed to pick it up tomorrow, no problem.
I relayed my experience to Justine and she said the whole process with U-Pack and ABF has been professional, easy and reliable. She noted that all her points of contact with ABF, in particular, were great.
Thanks, ABF, for making our daughter's cross-border moving experience so painless and pleasant.
Cheers,
Christina
