This is one of the nicest spots in the area. Your 15min to cache creek and only 40min to kamloops. Power water at each site but bring extension cords because the parks put all the hook ups on one side. Were in site #28 and couldn't each our hookups with 30ft cords so we had to go to cache creek and get supplies. Sani dump on site but bring cash. Showers on site are nice and clean but bring loonies. There is a beach on site and is very suitable to allow the kids to swim of your watching! Wood is $8 a bundle. Lots of beautiful birds. I read all the reviews before coming and was a little concerned about the trains. Dont be!! They are awesome!! The one train on the other side of the Fraser can hardly be heard and the other train track you see and hear the train but it's very nice and not an issue. They dont toot the horns so you aren't woke up at all. And in my opinion its comforting. We love it. They sometimes only come through once every couple hours. And then you'll get 3 trains in 20 min. Watch the cactus. Put shoes on if you go for a walk. Nice bathrooms. Honestly just a great place!!! Stop and see it!

It's a short distance from Kamloops. There's water and power at the site. Nice breeze from the fast-moving water. Mosquitoes and trains are two downsides.

On the plus side this park is close to Hwy 1 and easy to find. It is located on the Thompson River with small sandy beach on a backwater for safe wading and splashing. The park is old but clean with well maintained. All sites offer power hookups. The sites are level with picnic tables and fire pits. On the negative side there are ticks and snakes in the area. The campsites offer no privacy and little shade and some are rather small. Roads and sites are gravel with limited grass. There are active train tracks on both sides of the campground with frequent trains both day and night. You must pay for hot water in the showers. No cell coverage at sites. Limited coverage near exit.

Not inspiring. Stayed one night but didn't sleep at all because of trains on both sides every 10 mins. River is also not a thing of beauty with its brown water and very fast flow rate. Wished we had gone back to Steelhead PP

Went here for a picnic with my family and park staff were rude and uninviting. We were treated like we were not welcome. We pulled up into a parking spot and before we even got out of the van the lady that worked there told us the spot were in is reserved and that we had made a "mess" by driving in and she had to "rake" out the tire marks ...just sounding like she needs to justify her job. We then drove up to where we were told was the vistor area and then another staff tells us we need to fix our vehicle angle in a completly empty parking lot. Stayed for only a bit as there was no shade, mosquitos, high water, and the staff were vultures watching us..
