I just cancelled my booking here for the weekend and was told that I am being charged an extra late fee (a nights stay) because it is less than 48 hours notice. To be fair it was still over 24 hours notice. I get they have a policy...but I called multiple times yesterday and there was no answer. She said they were busy and I should have left a message. Well guess what, we are busy too. Well I did first thing this morning. Have been calling them for hours until I finally got through. Out paragliding was cancelled last minute yesterday for this Saturday because of weather. You’d think because I had tried contacting them multiple times yesterday and did first thing this morning they could make the exception and do the standard cancellation fee. Which is totally fair. I understand there has to be a fee for this. I had planned on rebooking here in August when we rescheduled...but will not now. As well as the rest of the party who I know have cancelled as well. I think it’s awful mostly because if they are so busy...then now they will charge someone else a nights stay plus, have my night’s stay fee. Even though I won’t be there. That is just greedy. At least give someone else a free night’s stay on me. Anyway, it’s too bad. I really wish things had happened differently. It may be a nice place to stay, I’ll never know. Just not very good customer service. Or maybe understaffed.

This was the second time we've stayed--both short stopovers on a long drive, but we liked it so much last year, we made sure to come again this time. Last year we came down from Roger's Pass in a huge downpour when the temperature dropped to 2°C, and killed our idea to camp at Illecillewaet. Lamplighter took our reservation on super short notice, AND boosted our truck the next morning when one of the kids cell phones drained our battery! 🙄 This year, we came into nicer weather and got to really enjoy this little green jewel. It's not a huge campground, but still feels spacious and is easy to maneuver in. There's a kids park and lots of area for the kids to bike and play. It is SUPER clean, and the owners are always available. Lots of hot water and and reasonable rates for everything they supply, including firewood. There is decent wifi and a book exchange. Laundry facilities and a camp kitchen really round out the big site feel on a smaller budget There are a ton of international visitors, so it makes for a very friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Yes there are mosquitoes, but that is part and parcel with a green lush environment. There is also some train noise, but again, not anything the campsite can control and is not disruptive. Just bring bug spray and enjoy the campfire! 10/10 we will be back. Thank you, Lamplighter!

Hubby and I stayed for the first time on 1st June and loved it that much we stayed another night! Lovely friendly Campground and lovely area around Revelstoke. Owners very friendly and helpful. Thank you

Nice campground with large places. The staff was very helpful and the washrooms and laundry room where very clean. A big plus is the free wifi with several antenna's all over the place. Nice place to stop and stay if you are on the road to the National Parks

We were told there was not a campfire pit which we thought was due to the past fire bans- no, it literally meant we did not have one, while at least 3 groups around us did... and we watched as they enjoyed lighting and using theirs. We were in the middle of an open area with zero privacy, (and very muddy due to a low lying field and lots of rain). Will not recommend to others.
