A lot better than we expected, given its proximity to the highway. We stayed at sites C6/C7, the only "double" site in the campgrounds. You can certainly still hear the highway but it wasn't bad at all. Close to a couple great hikes and a short drive to lightning lake. The sites further in are definitely nicer. Pit toilets and well water.

Don't bother if you're tent camping. Pitching areas are all fairly hard-packed gravel. You can hear the highway traffic all night. Fine for RV camping.

A great campground whether you are driving through and need to spend the night somewhere, or explore Manning for a few days. The park was very well kept, clean and quiet. Sites were appropriately spaced apart as well. A heads up that the water will need to be filtered or boiled prior to use, and the washrooms are pit toilets, but that's all part of camping and is to be expected. I'll definitely be back next year!

Great Campsite. First the cons: -pit toilets -you need to hand pump and boil water (If you're used to these then it's not really an issue.) -Also, it's next to the highway. I recommend choosing sites number 30+. This is far from the highway so you'll barely hear the cars. Upside to these campsites is that you're next to the river and a 50min. trail. It's also closer to the forest so do follow the BARE campsite guide. We made a mistake of leaving a tissue box one night and it was totally wrecked by some animal. There are also no showers, so options are: 1) Go to lighting lakes campsite 2) Go to Manning Park Resort ($5 facility use) 3) Bring your own outdoor shower Pros: - Trails like alpine meadows are just a short drive away. - Fewer people especially at the mentioned campsite numbers above. It's very peaceful. - There's little to no light pollution at night so you can really see the stars. - You're next to the river so you and your friends can easily relax there. - Great views of the mountains from the river.
