This place is very old and outdated. The staff was friendly but not very helpful. It looks like it was a great place maybe back in the eighties. There is a huge water slide that has fallen to disrepair. I’m sure it was nice back in the day. There seems to be a lot of permanent campers and this makes it appear trashy. To add to our disappointment my brother had an expensive tool box stolen from his truck. It also bothers me that the owners respond to very positive reviews to thank them but won’t take the time to address concerns.

I still love the camp ground. The only problem was they recently added air conditioner to trailers and it kept going off. The guy told us to reset the circuit breaker. We had to do it every 10 minutes. You shouldn't have to do this. They only offered us another trailer when we left a day early. We are still waiting for a refund as I got really sick from heat. Covered WAGON has gone down hill for quite a few years. Was disappointed. Been going there for years.

The perk of this campground is the owners are genuinely nice people and there is almost always availability even with an in ground pool and train rides for kids. However this campground saw its heyday in 1985 and really hasn’t been reinvested in. The images have to be 5-10 years old. The pond with trampoline is not swimmable with cattails all around, no beach or aerator and algae all over. The playground had equipment from the early 90’s (no problem) but all the flaking paint my 4 year old ever wanted to eat. The clubhouse smelled and looked like it was from the 70’s. Then many campsites had to share water with campsites not anywhere near them. Didn't bring an extra 100 feet of water hose? Might have a problem. We didn’t run AC as the first day we dealt with a brown out from too many campers using AC with maybe 80% capacity. And there was a lot of really tall grass. You could tell who was a yearlong camper as their grass was still 18” tall next to campers. Between the pond and grass - hello mosquitoes. The bathrooms were clean and well lit but it didn’t offset the engine breaking heard at all hours from the hughway 1 mile away. Overall - we didn’t die but prefer vastly more modern resort features to offset location and small campsites for the $50/night price.

We came up from Dayton for our niece's graduation hoping to have a great weekend camping while in the area. Don't let the campground name fool you, furthest thing from a resort as far as I'm concerned. Disgusting, nothing is kept up, sites are a muddy mess and expensive. We've done a lot of camping and have never seen a place like this. Sad, this place needs to be abandoned. They left one word off the camp name, it should be "Last Resort".
