Fitzroy Provincial Park

Came back because we loved it here 2 years ago. Overall, nice campground. Only thing we notice here is from our site 223, we can see the road. Ironically, the park staff driving in the side by sides seem to be the biggest offenders of speeding by. They are DEFINITELY not driving 20 km an hour. Showers and bathrooms are overdue for Reno. Busted tiles and mold.. otherwise, nice park

Camped here recently with friends, and had a good time. We stayed at the southwestern campsite area, and found the sites a bit small. There was a lot of mud; the sites could do with some gravel for the car parking parts. Washrooms decently clean, showers decently hot. The park store is great, and sells lots of stuff, but also firewood and tinder. They rent kayaks and canoes for the beach as well. The southern beach is nice, and has BBQ grills you can use for a picnic. Will be back next year :)

Fairly nice campground with reasonably sized lots. The facilities (like washrooms and showers) are very clean and well maintained. The beaches are quite nice with decent swimming areas. I didn't have the opportunity to see the park store, but the registration staff were all very polite and professional. I look forward to my next camping trip here!

Went camping here for a few days and it was very peaceful! The staff was curious and the site was clean and well cared for. Beaches were unusable due to high water levels but it seemed really nice for a day trip with the family. Such a beautiful escape so close to Ottawa, we had all sorts of wildlife around out sight including a White Tail Deer and many birds. Will be going again, hopefully with warmer weather.

I definitely recommend visiting or staying at this Provincial Park. It’s a wonderful get away. Especially, from the hustle and bustle of the city. The Park has a variety of amenities and makes many activities possible. There are day use areas for picnics, rest and relaxation, along with games (such as, a volleyball court). They have play structures for kids to play on, beaches for swimming and two trails which one can hike. They have numerous fishing spots available along both rivers for anglers. They also have a boat launch in the Park, if you’d like to set in or pull out on site. They have numerous vault and comfort stations - ie washrooms - some locations are barrier free, have showers and laundry. There are water taps and numerous picnic tables throughout the Park. They have both group camping, 7 to 50 people, and regular tent/trailer/camper/RV campsites. The non-group camping has ample campsites to accommodate a variety of shelter equipment. The non-group camping sites come in electrical, non-electrical and premium (premium are those campsites located along the water). There are also two water fill up stations and a dumping station for trailers near the Park’s entrance. And, best of all, along with the vistas if the rivers, plenty of wildlife frequent the Park - including: deer, foxes, butterflies and a variety of birds, to name a few. It has staff which are very friendly and helpful. Gate staff do their best to check you in efficiently, accommodate your needs and provide you with any information you request. The washrooms, campsites, beaches, trails, roads and other day use areas are clean and well maintained. The store on site provides a lot for camping essentials, including firewood and ice. They also have a great selection of merchandise, such as clothing and perishables. They also rent out canoes and kayaks for use. Best of all, they sell delicious ice cream in a variety of flavours - just can’t be beat on a hot summer day. They hold numerous events and activities, such as an evening concert series in July and a Natural Heritage Education - which includes, activities for kids, guided hikes, etc... Enforcement staff are good natured and helpful. A side note, there is a ban on consuming and possessing alcohol in the Park, in fact, many Provincial Parks, only on the Victoria holiday and the 10 consecutive days before it. Any other time of the season you are free to drink responsibility on your designated campsite.
