Stayed here for a month and it's honestly not as bad as people are reviewing it as. It is literally a residence building so don't expect luxury, there are shared bathrooms and the single rooms can be small. But it's completely livable and pleasantly clean. The staff is wonderful and have you in mind. Who goes on a vacation to stay in the room all day anyways? It's perfectly fine for sleeping and comfortable to stay in. The metro station is nearby, as well as plenty of bus stops, and even a grocery store walking distance away. Don't take all these negative reviews too seriously!

Would give zero stars, if it was possible. What to say? This is perhaps the worst "hotel" ever. But wait a minute. Let's be fair. Maybe you aren't fussy. After all, these are university residence dorms. $60 is a good price, right? Then this is for you. Don't mind constant noise that sounds like you are near an airport, or in an airport hotel with noisy guests? Then this place is for you. Need to contact front desk and don't mind holding for 7 to 10 miniutes? This place is for you. Like staying in places where there is no air conditioning and they give you the smallest and most noisy desk fan to cool a room the size of a bedroom? This place is for you. How about the noisy metal doors to every room that makes a loud clank? If you like that sound all night, this place is for you. You don't mind one dinky round hand soap and a single towel and face cloth for your stay? This place is for you. Maybe you don't care that there are no complimentary amenities, like free coffee and you have to pay $2 if you want one. This place is for you. It says this place is a 3-star "hotel". It is not. Noisy elevators, parking that is way up the mountain and poor signage that will surely make your arrival inhospitable. God forbid that you might have parking needs. Totally not handicpped accessible, unless you won the championship in stair climbing somewhere. Still, maybe this place is for you if you are forgiving. Have a great stay. Be sure to leave a review.

I would have given a 1 star, but given that fact that there are a lot of reviews on internet already that describes what this place offers, giving 2 stars for my ignorance to reviews. This actually is a student dormitory of university of Montreal and the unused rooms are offered for public bookings, so don't expect much from this place. All rooms, except 3, don't have air conditioning, rooms are pretty small, washrooms are shared for the floor (10 other rooms), just a plastic table top fan to deal with sweating summers. The room features a washbasin, refrigerator, study table and a slider bed. Location of this place is well connected to public transport. The place offers breakfast for an additional 8.5 $ + taxes, which i would skip, anyday. I don't think I will ever be going back to this place, unless this is the only economical place available over an extended weekend (the only reason I booked this time as well).

First, two compliments. Amazing staff, A+. And, I mean, good luck beating that price without ending up on someone's hide-a-bed I was in a building which had been recently renovated, but which had several obvious issues. Neither of the overhead lights in my room worked (they'd flicker and flicker but never stay on), the door was so thin that I could hear everything going on in other rooms, and the bed was a decently thick mattress slapped on a plank of wood. It's firm. It's very, very firm. You might want to leave the blanket in place so you get a little cushioning. The grounds are in very rough shape: at night, the big staircase must be an absolute deathtrap, to say nothing of the chipped and cracked pavers. While the facility has good transit access (with a bus stopping right outside and a Metro station 2-3 blocks away), do be aware that you're on the wrong side of the mountain to get into downtown quickly. Finally, guests should be aware that there might be as much as a 10-minute walk from the front desk to their actual building. (Maybe 15 minutes if you're dragging luggage behind you.) The good news is that UM has a series of elevators to help you navigate the slopes of Mount Royal, but that becomes a fiddly set of things to memorize or follow on the map. (Enter building 41 through door A3 and take the elevator to the sixth floor, then exit through door A2 and proceed to building 19...) But, I mean... for this price, what do you expect?

Great place! Clean! Cheap! Don't expect to much for the price. You're not going to get air conditioning or Wi-Fi in your room. But if you want it clean quiet room in a safe location this place will do just fine.
