I have to say that this is the worst service I have ever received for an animal. I have had many animals over the course of my life and I have had some poor service before but the staff at Kingsdale takes the cake. They don't even try to hide the fact that they couldn't care less about your animals suffering or the pain of the owner. Over the course of diagnosing my dog's illness I saw a couple different vets there and I was absolutely disgusted with how these people treat those in need of help. I have never felt more like a dollar sign than I did the past month at kingsdale. The interest of that place is purely financial. If you don't believe it by all means take your animal there and find out for yourself but if you love your animal the way I did then I urge you never to go to this vet. In response to the owners post I definitely did not blame Kingsdale for what happened to my dog. He was sick and eventually passed away and that is part of life. My problem with this vet is how we were treated by multiple members of the staff throughout the process. I found the lack of compassion absolutely atrocious. You can list all the things your vets do for pets they see there but those are completely irrelevant to this particular situation. Yes the vet we ended up dealing with at the end was more compassionate and that was stated but does not change the other two vets we saw or the receptionists we have dealt with over the course of this. Anytime Dr. Montgomery was not involved we were treated poorly. The impressions I have been left with about this animal hospital are based off of my personal experiences with the staff there and how they were not there for us when our dog needed them the most. You can say that we did not specify the euthanasia when we called in Saturday but that is a lie. The fact of the matter is we knew our dog had taken a turn and we knew it was time to end his suffering. That is why the call was placed. We took him to another vet to have the procedure done just hours after contacting Kingsdale and being turned away for what our dog needed. Why would we go through the stress of finding a new vet during this difficult time if we could have taken him to the vet he had seen for the past 11 years? The appointment offered was to medicate our poor dog and make him suffer until Monday. That clearly was not an option for us which is why we did not wait. compassion noun 1.a feeling of deep sympathy and sorrow for another who is stricken by misfortune, accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate the suffering.

If I could give zero stars I would. My dog was a patient of theirs his entire life... the receptionists are ignorant and do not care about animals. All in it for the money. It took them weeks to diagnose our dog with 2 forms of cancer. We were told blood work would be done to confirm then told when it came back that the test they do in house is not thorough so we would need to come in and do more blood work and send it away, quoted $65 on the phone and when I went to pay it was $85. When I called to tell them our dog was very bad and needed emergency attention we were told they didn't have time and would medicate him til they could put him down the following Monday. I was forced to go to an emergency vet to have him euthanized that day. When I called to tell them we would no longer need the Monday appointment as he had passed away over the weekend, their response was "OK I will cancel the appointment, thanks" NO COMPASSION WHATSOEVER. Do NOT go here. They do not care for your animals (with the exception of one part time Vet named Tara who was much more compassionate) Unfortunately because of the rest of the employees I will never bring another animal of mine here nor recommend this place to anyone. My dog meant everything to me and they treated him like nothing.

In 25 years of owning pets I've never encountered better care than the Kingsdale staff! I currently have a cat with a one-of-kind esophageal condition and can say with absolute certainty that he would not be alive today without Dr. Montgomery, her care and compassion. Now almost three years later, he just had his third birthday and wouldn't have lived beyond three months without having just the right professional to help figure out how to feed him (he can't ingest solids), ensure he wouldn't be treated like a guinea pig for tests and making us as comfortable and well-informed as possible during a critical and scary process. Tests have never been suggested (or advised against, which does happen!) without a full explanation of why and what they would entail, along with all other possible options and any associated costs. I will never take a pet to anyone other than Tara as long as I have the option! My cat is also quite aggressive but seems to understand and appreciate that the Kingsdale staff are there to help him, and contrary to 'standard' cat behaviour Kingsdale is the only place I can bring him where he remains calm and relaxed, and is willing to be handled by others. I have also had the opportunity to visit with 2 other vets at this location and they provided great care as well. My extended family has many cats and dogs, they go here too. If you want confidence in making an informed decision about the proper care of your animal, this is the right place. I read a lot of reviews before deciding to take my pet here and I'm glad I recognized that most of the negativity was written hastily..or perhaps with a lack of understanding of true ethical treatment. Tara and all the Kingsdale staff are first class!

I strongly agree with the positive comments, but want to note that this is only if you don't care to count on them in times of emergency. I also agree with the negative comments speaking from my own experience. They don't handle emergency calls and requests properly at all! So if you have any emergency, go to the emergency vet, and just give them a courtesy call. Do not count on them to help in that situation! On one morning 9 am I suspect that my dog broke his legs and he was not moving and in pain. I called immediately. The girl said she will see if there is anything available. But they didn't call me back until 3 pm in the afternoon. Something is wrong with their business model here. If a dog is in pain, and the owner notified you the minute after your open, you should try and see the dog immediately. This can be done by leave some spots for same day emergency, or reschedule some regular visits. Due to this incident, I'm seriously considering changing our vet to another one that has longer hours and will be there for me and my dog when we actually needed them most!

My dog was recently spayed at Kingsdale Animal Hospital and I have never been happier making the decision to go there for her. When calling around to find a place to take her Kingsdale was my first choice after calling other clinics. The staff on the phone were able to take the time and answer all my questions. Not once did I feel rushed with all my questions, and felt re-assured that she was going to the right place. We brought her in for her pre-anesthetic exam and Dr. Hinsperger was great! I ended up choosing the laser method for her, and when I picked her up you wouldn’t have even known she was spayed. Thank you to all the doctors and staff for your amazing care for my sweet Bella! We will be recommending you to all of our dog friends!
