My dog died because of DWAH's error

During a dental appointment, DWAH failed to connect an oxygen tube to the anesthesia machine. My healthy dog Jackson went in to cardiac arrest and suffered severe neurological damage. I had to have my best friend euthanized the following day. This was a careless mistake and one that was 100% avoidable. DWAH has admitted their fault in this but the damage is done and people need to know. Just because a clinic gets some good press doesn't mean they don't and won't make sloppy mistakes that will hurt your pet. Especially if aforementioned press results in the practice growing too fast for its britches. Ask all the questions. Ask who will be touching your animal and what their credentials are. Ask about safety protocols and checklists. Put in that extra effort to make it known you are serious about your animal's care and hopefully that will translate in to professionals who are on their toes.

I'd been going to Blue Cross Animal Hospital for 25 years and moved my cats to Dundas West a year ago. I also have three dogs and recently moved them as well because the level of care far exceeds my previous vet. Dr. Krayz has taken such amazing care of our pets. We lost one of our cats and she was amazing throughout the process. One of our dogs has heart disease and she's helping us prolong her life as much as possible. The team is awesome. There are no voice mail loops, just real human beings.

I've always heard great compliments and recommendations from other dog owners in the neighbourhood about Dundas West Animal Hospital and their staff. During the pandemic, my dog had a minor injury and received very friendly service over the phone with an immediate appointment. The doctor took her time to really get to know my pug and keep us informed and educate us. We felt Dr. Kraze was very experienced, sincere and compassionate. My pug is usually very squirmy around vets/groomers he doesn't know but he was pretty comfortable with the staff and his visit. I will definitely be returning for all future visits!

They knew my dogs were stressed so put them in a private room. The assistant was attentive with all dogs, especially Bacchi the male dog. Gave them treats and attention. Organized, efficient, respectful of my preferences. Did not pressure me to vaccinate as I use nosodes. Provided information on diet as one dog has potential allergies. Diagnosis of growths on Gabriel was not definitive but gave options. Will update whether they sponsor Gabriel for the Farley Foundation to assist financially. Received a follow-up call to check up on my dogs' response to treatment. Reviewed options for Gabriel as surgery makes me nervous. Dogs are like people to me although the dog whisperer would not be impressed. They care about my dogs and made certain I am following proper protocols. It is a relationship which is nothing short of amazing. It is a first step in which I hope will be a quick journey but I have a nagging feeling things are not quite what they seem.

Always able to get our pets in last minute. I’ve called them crying from a cab on my way to clinic, and they’ve accommodated and comforted my overly emotional times. Dr.Buchanan and Dr. Merola treat our cats like family and Dr. Folosea is amazing with our very fearful chihuahua terriers. Dr.Kilburn has been amazing anytime we have needed a procedure done and Guided us through recovery.
