The "Perfect Bucket List Boat Charter"

In September, 2023, we bareboat chartered Bella Vita, a 53' power yacht out of Desolation Sound Yacht Charters, Comox, and cruised through the Discovery Islands. We have done bareboat charters for our 20 years in many places (Med, Caribbean, Mexico, etc.). This was the best bareboat chapter trip we have experience. DSYC is a 5-star charter company and Bella Vita was the perfect boat. It had Starlink satellite internet (for those in our group who could not resist checking emails and doing Zoom meetings). It also came with 2 SUPs and 2 kayaks - a complete package. The essential electronics, mechanical issues, and appliances all worked great and the engines were very fuel efficient - we only used 364 litters in 7 days! I highly recommend DSYC and in particular, Bella Vita. Take a skipper with you, if you have not done tidal rapids before. This is NOT a place to learn by trial and error. Also we recommend e-biking Quadra Island and touring the Nuyumbalees Cultural Center

We have chartered a 41ft power boat from these folks for two years now. Fantastic experience and exceptional service! When we had a problem, they came to us and fixed the issue no problem! Our vacation was unaffected - well more than others will do to ensure you have a worry free experience - I highly recommend them!

We chartered a beautiful Jeanneau 42’ this summer. It was our first time to the area and we had a very positive experience. The team at DSYC were fantastic and really took care of us and their location cannot be beat if you are looking to sail in the Desolation Sound area. We would not hesitate in recommending them as a charter company.

This is our second charter through Desolation Sound Yacht Charters and once again they knocked it out of the park! The boat we chartered (Aug/17) was clean and in great working order, and if we had questions while underway someone was always available to answer the phone. The fantastic scenery, the abundant wildlife, the great weather, the endless coves, the freshwater lakes and the wild blackberries growing EVERYWHERE, left us only wanting more! This trip was the only vacation we've ever been on that left us refreshed and relaxed and wanting MORE! We live and work in Revelstoke, BC in the winter months, but our hearts are forever in Desolation Sound! Thankyou Jennifer and Maz and the entire team of consummate professionals at DSYC. Your business runs like a well oiled machine! We will be back!

We chartered HUNTER 36 - "Island Girl" from Desolation Sound Yacht Charters in August 2014 for sailing in Desolation Sound with an instructor for 6 days and nights. Everything was good! We only wished a little more of wind. :0)
