Absolutely deservedly of 5 plus stars. Not only did they do a great job they also: Educated me on the process of grooming styles What dog brushes to buy for my bread of dog Did absolutely every thing possibly to make my dog feel at ease. They look after everything possible when it came to grooming my dog. The list is too long to list

The care given to give an individual cut that is specific to my dog, is thoroughly appreciated. I spend much time on our walks telling people who gives him such an amazing cut. Not to many people walk by that don't ask!

I am new to Okotoks and very rarely write a negative review -I am the type of person to read most bad reviews with a grain of salt, so please feel free to do the same with mine -but I felt it necessary to write this. We have recently adopted a 9.5 month old Bernese cross (Sadie), she is sweet and kind but everything from walking controlled on a leash to learning to trust us, has been a work in progress. I booked with this company because I had a day off in the midst of moving, a new job etc. and they had the most flexible last minute schedule. I decided to walk with Sadie and work on her leash skills on our way to the appointment. When we arrived, both staff members were pleasant and seemed incredibly friendly; they asked me to bring her up the step and into the tub but I knew she would be timid and afraid of it (even my 12 year old Corgi still doesnt like the tub and hes been bathed regularly since he was a puppy) they got her in the tub though like pros and I was so impressed -however, Sadie was scared and peed in the tub. They both immediately began criticizing me for her behaviour, suggesting daycare, socialization etc. I reexplained to them she was brand new to us, and we have taken prior classes, have the tools..we just need time. They explained to me they wouldnt be able to dry her properly if she wouldn't be able to adjust to the kennel.. I said that was okay, jsut whatever they could do would be fine with me. A few minutes after I left I received a text message "your dog is covered in fleas, can you pick her up now?" Horrified.. as I have never dealt with fleas picked up and began crying and apologizing as I had no idea -I had seen no symptoms.. when I got home I quickly did internet research and checked my other 2 dogs under their armpits/groin areas and couldnt see anything.. I went to Petsmart and to the grooming salon for advice as I had no idea where to even begin (normally I take my dogs there but their prices are expensive) -they sent me home with a comb and encouraged me to call the vet for an actual diagnosis before I spent money on treatment. I took all 3 dogs into the vet and they couldnt find any evidence of fleas... however, I still treated them because of what Luxuria had said that they had found. I messaged Luxuria later explaining to them the results of what had happened and the vet bill etc. and they told me that Sadie was indeed a sweet dog, they offered to come to my house to show me the fleas.. which I appreciated. However, what I didnt appreciate was also the fact they explained to me that clearly I have a lot more going on than my dog having fleas -despite what the vet had found. I agreed -I was looking for my dog to be given a bath in a safe environment..in an environment not built on routine, but on the individual basis of behaviour shown from each dog. I felt ashamed when I shouldn’t have been because we rescued a large timid dog, embarrassed because I didn’t know anything about fleas and instead of being given the tools to deal with them I was pushed away, confused because the vet could not find any fleas and I was upset when I felt criticized for feeling stressed. I hope that my review, regardless of how lengthy it is -will assist someone else in making the decision on whether or not to have their animals in this groomers care.
