Yes been years since I was in Big Al s. Still has has the same smell. Same set up as well. Caters to more smaller fish. Use to be able to get large fish at 1 time. Also added tons of reptiles of all kinds. Still have the great big tank in the middle filled with awesome fish.

Has that classic old aquarium store feel about it. Smells a little off. Tons of fish, and small pets, stacked high. Best part though was the excellent service and advice form all the employees we spoke to.

I always enjoy going to this store. They've got a great selection of fish and reptiles. The staff is really friendly and knowledgeable. If you need advice about starting a fish tank this is a great place to go.

Only writing this because I did not want to argue with the employee there. I always research the fish I see there before I buy it. Various Google information about the fish I wanted said it was a schooling fish, which I was advised about at big al’s. What I also read was get a minimum of 6 to lower in-fighting, or get 1. I only wanted 1 but he told me I had to get 3. 3 from my experience is not a good number to lower in-fighting. Fact is that fish would have been happier to come home with me.

Gone downhill a lot since last year. It seems these guys know how to do fish very well, but most other creatures are not well cared for, with some in entirely unsuitable habitats. Cons: The frogs were emaciated. Most amphibians and repiles had dry water dishes, and no moisture in their substrate. Very sad. Every time I've visited there have been sick bearded dragons. Pros: Wide variety of fish and aquatic plants. Variety exotic reptiles and amphibians.
