This was our first escape room, so we were not sure what we were in for. It was fun, well put together. There is this side mystery which I really didn't care about. I would not recommend for anyone who has mobility issues. They should not do it as there is some minor clambering to do. I'm 59 and had no problem, but if you have mobility, balance or issues like that then think twice. Overall, I enjoyed the place. The staff was friendly. They didn't try to up-sell us, so that was nice. Took a pic at the end which I thought they'd try and sell us, but no.. So kudos for that. There were 3 of us and we didn't make it out, but I'm pretty pleased with how far we got. We knew what to do, but just didn't have enough time! I recommend you give this a try if you want something fun to do.

Did the Doctors Redemption room. Nice and bright inside, which I appreciated. Almost all puzzles do not have any tech components to them, but were alright nonetheless. The last puzzle was interesting and a nice surprise. But could have made it even more physically challenging by adding more sensors. It requires a minimum of three players to play the room, but don't see why. Two players could physically complete all the puzzles. In fact, if more than 4 players are in your group then I would say it would be severely cramped in there, and many of the players would be standing around with not enough to do.

Had a good time with the family at the Photo Lab. It was the company's first escape room so I can tell that some things were a little bit rocky (some clues were hard to find, some clues were hard to figure out what to do with), but overall, we escaped and everyone enjoyed themselves. I'm hopeful that future rooms will be even better! Update: our family went back to do Scandal in Kingston a year later and I'm sad to say the quality of the experience has not improved much. Many of the clues were finicky and/or there was room for interpretation. A few times we found ourselves saying the answer could be ABC or ADC or ABE or ADE, depending on what the game designers were thinking at the time. There were several times where we knew how we were supposed to solve a puzzle (which should have been the exciting aha! moment) but our solution didn't quite work and we had to spend several minutes working on slight variations on our solution (moving an specific item a millimeter to the left, for example). My review remains a solid 3-stars.

I have completed the 3 rooms they have to offer and enjoyed them all. Each was unique and presented a different type of puzzle/experience while all staying true to the Sherlock theme! Would recommend for those new to escape rooms, but also to more experienced players.

I would highly recommend Shelock's Escapes. The rooms are very well done and the clues are great for beginners and veterans. We will definitely be going back to escape from the other rooms.
