Great selection of Briggs & Riley luggage and bags, and good friendly service.

After having shopped around in the area for travel luggage in the usual places, including the big box stores, we ended up at the Guelph Modern Tourist where we found a very good selection of luggage including the set we bought. Prices were competitive, as one of the other reviewers has pointed out. We were impressed by the quality of the service which was very helpful in making our choice. There is a sequel. We used the larger suitcase for one trip and upon returning we found that there was a problem with the handle. Back to the shop we went and explained that we needed the suitcase for another trip, a week later; we did not want to return it because we liked it a lot but we needed it fixed. The young woman who had sold us the luggage took all the details and told us that the owner would take care of this. Just then the owner came in and, yes, she would take the suitcase up to Toronto and make sure we would have it back in time for the travel. This is what happened, and a couple of days later we had the suitcase back, handle problem fixed.

We drove up to Guelph from Hamilton last week on the advice of a friend (a frequent flyer and business traveller)-it was well worth the trip as we're going to Europe and the U.K. on a three-week holiday and got plenty of help with luggage recommendations, travel accessories and adaptors for the various countries we're going to visit. They answered all our questions about luggage weight and size restrictions and even got some useful tips on how to pack for such a big trip. I would recommend this shop to anyone-the staff there was extremely helpful and were genuinely interested in our travel plans.
