Review of Parklane Pools and Spa:
I purchased a brand new hot tub through Parklane Pools and Spa in the summer of 2016. The brand new tub was approximately $8000.00. After only a few weeks after installation, my hot tub experienced breaker issues. Parklane did replace the breaker one or two times. The problem persisted with eventually the tub shutting down in the peak of the winter season, I believe February. As you can imagine, with the temperature being well below zero, my concern for the water and equipment freezing was very high. Parklane Pools could not send anyone out for an emergency call and suggested I place a space heater till they could service the tub. Eventually, after three to four days with the space heater running , my hot tub had a new pump installed and repaired.
I believe both sides were co-operative in this on going issue, but the reason I am writing the review now is for this fact:
On April 11, 2017, I explained to Parklane Pools (Holly) that I was in need of a water exchange for my hot tub. She said she could arrange that service since I have had this same service done back in November 2016. The process is basically taking the old water out and replacing with new water. I asked her is she could speak to Marion (owner) and see if I could get a discount on the service since the issue of having my hot tub shut down in February and losing the ability to use it with my guests for the whole weekend. Also, I explained that running the space heater for 3 straight days would be an expense which I had to cover (hydro). Holly said she would talk to Marion and get back to me.
To my surprise, Holly called me back and said the water exchange service is no longer an option for residents of Sun Peaks. Their reasoning is that it takes too long to exchange the water and not worth their time. Funny, in my initial call , Holly was willing to set up a time for the service, but only after I asked for a discount they took the service away.
I felt explaining my situation with our purchase needed to be addressed. I said that we purchased a brand new hot tub which over several months never worked correctly, culminating in the hot tub not working at all. I suggested to Holy that after all the issues the least they could do is give us some sort of compensation. Instead, they took the service away from us.
To me this example is not so much about the money, but more importantly is about long term customer service and integrity. When I explained to Holly about my concerns she said that they didn't build the hot tub and they have gone above and beyond. I explained to Holly that both parties have gone "above and beyond" and Parklane needs to stand behind their products as they are the distributor for them. When I was purchasing the hot tub, Parklane told me about the quality of their tubs and service. In writing this review, I would hope Parklane re-considers their customer service process. I will be contacting the BBB to see my options to these issues. I would hope the remainder of my warranty period will be serviced by Parklane Pools better than the first few months.
