Beautiful homewares at good prices.

Jan 15, 2017
I originally went into this sore on October 25th 2016 to purchase an anniversary clock that my husband wanted. I was getting it as a Christmas gift. At that time I also purchased a coffee table and two packs of napkins. I brought them home kept the receipt and wrap the present, that being the anniversary clock. My husband opened the anniversary clock at Christmas, and he was very happy with the look of it and that I remembered which clock it was that he wanted. We put batteries in it and set it on the fireplace mantle where it stood for about a month. He then figured that it was way too loud the ticking and turning of the mechanism and it was driving him nuts. So on January 14 I returned to the store and asked if I could exchange it. The same woman that sold me the clock was the person that was returning it for me. She was sweet as pie the day I bought it but was the extreme opposite of that the day that I wanted to return it. She kept repeating that information is only kept in their system for two weeks and even pounded her fist on the countertop to emphasize her statement. I told her that I do not have the receipt any longer but I did have my MasterCard statement showing the purchase on October 25. She told me that the MasterCard statement was not good enough and that I missed the return date by seven days. I stated that seven days past the due date for returns was really not that bad and that my husband did not want the clock anymore even though it was the one he had picked out because it was so loud. She was quite nasty and not helpful at all. She said that she would have to contact her manager on Monday although I was told that she was the manager by a sales associate. She advised me to leave the clock with her and took my name and number and said they would call me on Tuesday.she said that the statement didn't show what I bought but at the same time she said that her search and her computer showed that I bought a clock. I said to her well that is the same clock that I'm returning. She said you could've bought more than one clock and I'm thinking why would I do that. She was completely behaving as if I had stolen the clock. I completely regret spending $1000 there in October. I will never ever go back there again. It's wonderful to be nice to your customers when they're buying something but you should be just as nice when they are returning something after all you do want return business don't you? So I will wait until Monday or Tuesday or whenever they find that it's good to call me and see what they do for me.
