Once you come in, you will never leave without something so prepare your wallet beforehand. The place is busy as always but lines go fast. The staff is quite helpful and always extend help. There are also free sampling booths to introduce all kinds of food products. There's always free space for parking even if it's busy. Price wise, it's usually cheaper than other places because you're expected to buy in bulk.

I think that being a wholesale place the prices are too high. You have to know what you're buying but they should come down in the price and their selection s are not what they used too be like. You still have to go to Safeway or Superstore to get what you need. Glasses prices have gotten higher than some of the other stores. But this is just my opinion.

Costco is a great place to shop, but my review is for the optical center. I came in around lunch time to ask if there was any opening for an eye exam, and the secretary was able to get me a same-day appointment. I was impressed by the respect and dignity of both the secretary Darlene, and Dr. Connor. Everything went smoothly; thank you!

This place is like Walmart but BIGGER and the staff are awesome. :) There's a lady that works here and we always talk weightlifting when I cash out. Incredibly friendly environment with all the things you need in JUMBO sized boxes. Awesome.

I’ve been a member at this Costco for the past couple of years and I have very mixed feelings about this business. On the one hand, they do have some good deals on certain meats and cheeses. If you come here to buy these items strategically, you generally won’t be disappointed. But, on the other hand, most of the products in the store are actually overpriced when compared to competitors like Superstore. To see for yourself, the next time you go to Costco, open up the Superstore website and cross reference prices (all Superstores prices are listed online) and you’ll see that things like bulk chicken at both stores are pretty comparable. People say that their propane refills are a good deal, but you can get the same deal or better if you refill your BBQ’s propane tank at a Co-op Gas Station. I thought Costco was a cheap place to find winter tires (because that is what everyone says) but I bought some last year from a local Honda dealership for cheaper and within a few days instead of having to wait several weeks with Costco. The Costco business model is essentially this: offer some unique items, offer a few deals on a few bulk items, and people will falsely assume that the store has good deals on everything, so they become uninhibited and spend excessive amounts of money here. I find the whole membership thing to be a pretentious exclusivity-based marketing ploy (paying them for the privilege to spend money at their store) and that whole “let me check your bill before you leave, but know that I won’t actually check it (but look like I am) because it will make you think we’re keeping an eye on you” is super annoying. And, don’t even get me started on that parking lot where it’s next to impossible to take a left on St. James Street to go south. To add to this, I’ve had some super rude experiences with the photo department to get passport photos and weirdly dismissive and unhelpful comments from floor staff. Staff aren’t “always” rude, but certainly more so than a lot of other stores in the city. And, after having written this, I’m realizing that I’ve pretty much talked myself out of renewing my membership…
