Lived here for 4 months and liked it until they wanted to increase my rent by $800/month from $3,800; with one months notice. They claimed I wasn't paying for all my services, although when I moved in I was assured that all was included! They also began charging for minor services: got a $9 bill to repair my air conditioner; also began charging to hang pictures and other minor tasks at a rate of $55/hour. It basically was gouging the residents, many of whom have nowhere else to go.

My father lives there and liked it enough after a year to purchase a condo in the attached building. He lives independently and has peace of mind that if something happens he will get immediate help. He likes living there, loves the neighbourhood and the companionship of other residents. I can somewhat understand the other reviewers low ratings because an aging parent, especially if they are sick, is very difficult. I have found in my experience that all seniors homes are subjective to scrutiny depending on what one requires. Communication with management is key. I took one star off because no place is perfect. However, since the ownership has changed there have been significant improvements! This home, I find is one of the best in town.

Fantastic retirement home with great staff and effective management. As a condo owner (Rental, and planning for a family retirement) in their attached building for the past year I continue to be impressed by the improvements and changes that the Villagia has undergone. The best parts for me are the responsive administration staff and the dining room. Really delicious food thanks to their great cooks and new head chef, and recently they offer even more options at every meal. Wonderful place.

A week ago, I had shared my thoughts about Villaghia...but it was taken down! Overall, the Staff is compassionate. However, my Mother was moved to another floor where more assistance was needed. For some reason, all her furniture and clothing was discarded! All she had on her feet were a pair of dirty slippers! Also, her medical appointment was forgotten, overlooked. This really happened sorry to report. (Screenshot made)
