Quartz counter failed almost killed baby

The company "Klair Custom Homes" who built our family home 5years ago does not care that they almost killed our 11-month-old baby. A 100+lb quartz counter broke away falling 3.5ft just missing our baby crawling on the ground damaging the hardwood floor. We are so lucky that it did not hit our child, or pet as I am sure this would be a different story today. Upon investigation of the failure, it was obvious that Klair the house builder did not install the countertop properly (see photos). Klair the builder had attached the counter with two brackets only secured by only 2 finishing nails, and a little silicone which is not a structural adhesive. The builder Klair Homes notified me today that the home they built was now 5 years old and they are no longer responsible and basically told me to go pound sand, that there was nothing they would do to fix the problem. Once again I was stuck fixing the deficiencies of the house builder Klair Homes.

We were in need of a "quick possession" home. We actually had never heard of Klair custom homes,they just happen to have a show home close to the condo we lived. Klair had a duplex that we liked but we wanted to see if we could find something better(budget & design) with another builder. Husband & I set out to visit several show homes by other builders(Trust me! we visited so many show homes, we got tired. :) . We found out that what some of the builders were offering as "upgrades" were "standard" with Klair and in terms of design,quality & budget,what Klair had offered us was terrific.This is our first home and to be honest these guys were amazing and very professional throughout the process. We've been in our home built by Klair for about 6 months(as of the time of the review) and we've only had one very minor issue so far and it was fixed promptly by Klair. I'm really happy we chose this builder.

Klair was great to work with. The purchase process was laid back and straight forward. The construction was smooth and painless, on time and on budget. They lived up to all their commitments and took great care of us after the sale completed. Many times during the process we were offered helpful solutions to issues we didn't see coming. Their expertise was valued. I would happily recommend Klair to family and friends.

Absolutely the worst service ever. From empty promises to sending unqualified trades men to do electrical work on my house. One gentlemen they sent was actually a nurse and here he was trying to trouble shoot an electrical problem in my house. Just under 2 years since we moved in but there is still outstanding issues from the 1st year end walk through that they just wont fix. I wouldn't recommend Klair homes to my worst enemy.

We purchased our first home from Klair Custom Homes. We were really impressed with the high level of professionalism at which Prince handled our transaction from the start of the negotiation. The sales experience was top notch. We loved that we were fully involved in building our home and selecting the interior from start to finish.
