EDITED REVIEW:
My review of the purchase process stands. But the service? Garbage. Go literally anywhere else for service. This is as low as it goes, folks, and dealers make over 40% of their profit from service. Put your money where your mouth is. I know we are. Three cars are no longer going there for service, including the new purchase. Two Audis from friends and family are annoyed enough by my experience to back out as well.
I see I am not alone in this. Seems the service department is horrible in general. Thankfully, I am not content with a Google review. This is going way further and will be noticed. Hopefully ramifications will push change. Calling out DANIEL ROY specifically here. He's mentioned in other bad reviews. He's the one who pushes for the 10/10 review after ignoring us, and then continues to ignore further emails. Niquet? This is why you lost 5+ cars for service. This is why it's going to Twitter blast, and directly to VW Canada. This is why you'll lose a bunch of money in service. In fact, we're cancelling two appointments today alone!
Overpriced compared to quotes from Duval and Gabriel for the SAME service with NOTHING added. Of course we weren't told this until we're at the register. Over an hour longer than planned with an appointment booked so far in advance it's just silly. No apology, no explanation, nada. And then? Then I get the email from them in advance of the automatic VW Canada survey, where they beg me to give them 10/10 because anything under 10 is considered a fail by VW. No, you didn't get a 10 because you didn't earn it. Furthermore, I replied to their request, CC'd others in the service dept and management explaining why, and got no reply. Guess we're not worth it. So that score became even lower. That I have a direct link to top VW Canada guys from working with them in advertisement previously is something Niquet couldn't possibly have known. So, hey... treat everyone the same and ramp up your service game. Enjoy your tiny overcharge profit and decision to ignore my email reply. Also enjoy losing thousands in future service (easily) and the amazing service reviews you'll get. After the great sales experience I expected better. My mistake. I've got 3 cars for sure no longer going to you, 2 more in line and the magic number is 10. I'll get there, it's my mission now.
So hey, to anyone who cares about their car? Buy it here, sure. I stand by that review and won't be retroactively petty. But get it serviced at Duval or elsewhere, where the service is a lot better.
Fantastic purchase. I'm not pushy. I know I can push a bit more and get a slightly better deal but I do research, find the price I want to pay with the options I want and make that clear right off the bat. My salesman was easy to talk to and deal with and he made it work. I'm sure he's happy with how fast and simple it was and the decent commission he made, and I'm happy with having obtained my price and what I wanted. Win/Win.
Delivery was wonderful. Car in the showroom all prepped and ready to go when we arrived at our scheduled time. Delivery guy was super friendly. Salesman came out to see us and so did all the others, as they drove it out of the glass doors for me. Just felt like a classy experience from A to Z, especially when compared to Gabriel VW where we bought my gf's car 3 years earlier. She remarked on this as well, like "why are you treated like a prince and they just basically gave me keys and told me to F off in polite terms?" Yep. ZERO comparison to be made. THIS is a dealership if you're a serious buyer. They go the extra mile on everything. My 5th new car purchase and my best experience to date.
